"How did she die?".."My Ipod killed her"

Don't hug grandma too close when you have your Ipod handy! A 17 year old highschool student did a project for the science fair and concluded that if you wear a pace maker, your Ipod, or your grandkid's Ipod causes interference in the radio signal of the pacemaker. A study of 83 volunteers with pacemakers found the music devices interfered with the pacemakers nearly 30 percent of the time.

"The results of the study, conducted by Michigan high school student Jay Thayer and Dr. Krit Jongnarangsin, a University of Michigan cardiologist, were presented Thursday at the Heart Rhythm Society meeting in Denver. The society is a professional group focusing on irregular heart rhythm.
In most cases, the iPod interference caused pacemakers to misread the heart's pacing. In one, the pacemaker stopped altogether.
The iPod - like microwave ovens, cell phones and other electronic devices - appears to cause a problem by creating an electromagnetic field that interferes with the electric function of the pacemakers, Thayer said."

What I think is odd about the story... a 17 year old came up with the idea to test this theory. The kid is the next Doogie Howser!

I still believe....Rosie the Goat!

Ever as a child have your parents tell you that your favorite pup, gerbil, cat or goldfish was happy in Heaven with God and is in Animal Heaven?.... Well as a child I rather liked the idea and since I am a God believer, I like the idea as an adult. I mean, how can these animals, that you care for and love and have great personalities, be forgotten in the afterlife? So if this is true (to my belief) for pets, then it should be true for all animals. When I was a kid, if I saw an animal on the side of the road I would whisper "God bless you" and it made me feel like someone remembered. I still do it as an adult. Some think it weird...but I don't care.
So point is...
Michael and I bought a house last year and loved the fact that it backed up to a goat and sheep farm. The sheep are prudish and never come to say hi...but the goats were a different story. They were awesome! We had 3 in particular that we liked. So my son and I named them. There was Gruff, Bear and Rosie. Our favorite, Rosie, when she heard her name being called, she would come from 3 fields over and say hello and we would always have fruit from our trees waiting for them. Well we learned that the goats were being raised for food and I told the farmer that I would pay for Rosie to buy her should her # be called. He laughed and agreed, but promised that Rosie was a breeding goat and he would never get rid of her. Well one day all the goats disappeared. For 4 months they have been gone. I have been deeply saddened. Well I ran into the farmer's wife and she said a disease hit the barn and one of the goats got really sick. Even though the others were unaffected, all the goats had to go to the butcher. My heart broke. I couldn't imagine someone eating my little Rosie and her friends. They had no idea what a great goat she was!
Well I tried to make peace with it, and I came up with this. If we hadn't of moved there, Rosie wouldn't of been Rosie, she would have been a goat. No one would have singled her out and given her fresh fruit every day. She wouldn't have gotten ear and under chin rubs. She would have been another goat on another farm. So at least she got to know love before she knew death.
Good Night Rosie...we know you are in heaven, but we will miss you!

Kids say the darndest things! (funny story)

This is actually an embarrassing story about 'me'. I can't believe I am telling you, but who cares...it's funny!

So my son and I were in McDonalds the other day and I bought him his dinner. While he was eating I called his father and was politely chatting when all of a sudden, out of no where I had to pass gas and couldn't hold it. Normally I wouldn't fret b/c no one ever notices, but this time it sounded like a fog horn. I looked up and everyone had turned to look at me. Hubby on the phone was like "WHAT WAS THAT?"
Quick in my thinking I exclaimed loudly "...Tyler???" my husband asked, 'our son farted that loud" Smart mommy, I turned to Tyler and said "Oh my you farted you little stinky" in my cute mommy voice, trying to divert the attention from myself. Then my two year old stood up and yelled "Not me Mommy. YOOOOOU! You FARTED Mommy!" And he kept on until everyone looking at us started diverting their eyes back at me and giggling. Hubby could do nothing but laugh.
I think that my face is still a nice shade of red. Guess I can't blame a mommy boo boo on a dirty diaper anymore.

Kids...they say the darndest things don't they.

I feel sorry for the next one...(open letter)

Okay, yes, I know that my belly is rather large for 22 weeks (5.5 months). She is going to be a big baby. Beautiful, but yes big. "Hey lady at Macaroni Grill...Don't you think I know this already!!! Pick your lower lip up from the floor!"
"Hey Lady at Target... Yes I am the one carrying her around, she is a big baby...and NO I am not going to pop right here!!! You are going to catch flies with your mouth open so wide!"
Starbucks guy..."Yeah so what.. I eat a Bran Muffin in the morning, you try popping Prenatal pills full of iron and see how fast you take a shit OKAY!!! When are you due dude?"
There is a thing out there called pregnancy etiquette...or rather just " etiquette "
The next person that says something about my belly...I am going to snap! And please parents..it's cute the first one or two times your kid rubs my belly, but when they stand there expecting a genie to pop out of the damn thing, you need to pull them away!
Thank you to my friend Katie that saw me over the weekend and hugged my belly exclaiming, "oh look how cute!!! The little prego belly" That is the warm kinda fuzzies I need right now.
I should really have hubby take a pic to show you guys!
