YOU KNOW WHAT ERKS ME

We weren't ready, but he was

Friday, Michael and I had to make the decision to let our Dakota pass.
The doctor came over, we were outside, the sun was shining bright, the wind was blowing a cool breeze and the birds were chirping. Dakota gave us one of his quirky smiles with the Elvis lip, then laid his head in Michael's lap.
The Vet bent down and gave Dakota a hug and said "I'm sorry I couldn't make you better". She teared up a bit.

Michael and I were devestated. It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make as a couple. We are truly mourning his free spirit.
The house is a bit quieter this evening, but we know that Dakota was tired. His spirit was so broken. We loved him so much. I hope that he knew that. I can only pray that his last moments were filled with nothing but love.

Sorry to hear about that, but I'm sure you know Dakota isn't suffering anymore.

I know I'm late with my condolences, but I really am very sorry for your loss. I've been where you are, and I know it's not easy.

I hope your memories of Dakota in a happier time will comfort you both.
