American Idol...Inspirational?

I never thought that I could be inspired by American Idol. Tonight they did "Idol gives back". They are helping poverty stricken cities in the United States and Africa. One of the idols sang..Imagine, by John Lennon.

I thought to myself... Can you believe that John Lennon died over this belief:

Imagine there's no Heaven

It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I've never been one to fawn over celebrities, but Lennon got that one right. Too bad so few actually strive for it.

"If" can be such a big word.

I don't watch A.I at all, but on the news it said that Canadian singer Michael Buble took part, as Tony Bennett was too ill or something. Now do you see how sweet MY Michael Buble is!!!???

I totally believe that John Lennon was a man so before his time. What he sings of is a utopia of sorts and I wish the world could be like that. There would be no intolerence, racism, bigotry....sadly I fear that there is too much greed and ignorance for that to ever happen.
