cravings.....mmmm mmmmmmm

I have heard some weird cravings over the years. While in my prego classes, the instructor said that some women crave dirt???or wet clay???
I haven't been blessed with those types of cravings (thank God). With my first pregnancy I crave clemetines, watermelon, spagetti, and cherries. All of which had to be fresh. I remember bringing in half a watermelon to share with everyone at work one day. When Maryellen asked where it was...I licked my fingers and said "huh..what watermelon" tee hee hee. The weirdest craving I had though was for sour pops. Not just any kind. Only the kind you could find in the summer. They come in a box and you freeze em yourself. They are the most disgusting things I have ever eaten, but for some reason..I couldn't get enough. My hubby went to just about every grocery store in two counties and couldn't find them. Finally I got in touch with the maker and they sent me a box of 400.! I think I was held over.
Now ..in the dead of winter... I am craving watermelon. I just found the freshest watermelon and am chowing it down while my spagetti heats up in the microwave...mmm what a combo!
What were your cravings...or your wife's ..guys don't be shy!

My mom craved anchovies even though she hated them.

I wonder if that had anything to do with my fish allergy?

While she was pregnant with my older brother, my mom couldn't stand the sight, smell or thought of Chinese food. But when she was pregnant with me she couldn't get enough of it.

didn't really crave anything at all...just usually kept my fingers crossed that I could keep the popsicle juice down.

My hubby though had the cravings...he gained a few pounds.
One time he woke up starving at 4:00am and BBQed some hamburgers..can you believe it???

the smell of grease just completely made me yak...once he even got a craving for home-made fries...he peeled up some potatoes and deepfried them out on the deck.

The worst was he cooked himself up some brussel sprouts at midnight ( I detest brussel sprouts!!! with a passion) and brought his dish of buttery brussel sprouts into our bedroom, where I was sleeping. He said it was almost funny...I got a weird look on my sleeping face and then I sat up and threw up.
I was furious with him...I can't stand the smell of those NOT-Pregnant...why would he bring them in there...he said he was laying in bed watching Saturday Night Live, which gets broadcast here at midnight, on channel 5 on Sat.'s and he got a "craving".
Sometimes, I could just kill that man...he's lucky I love him!!! lol

oh and then waking up to the smell of brussell sprouts! UUUCK!

Last night I went on a rampage b/c hubby decided that while I put Ty to bed he would make some pop corn. Bad move. That shit stunk up the entire house.

He was like...so I wanted a snack..I said then go buy yourself some of that shit already popped in a bag... now I am walking through the house smelling shit (popcorn) everywhere. Oh the smell just horrifies me!

Hubby finally saw the hormonal side of me. tee hee hee

does the smell of it bother you usually?
I love the smell of it in the theatres..I know it isn't that good for you, plus it is fattening, but I don't care...plus I like to throw it at people!!!

it's all good...just the ones I know...or if it's a cute bunch of guys, i throw some and then pretend it's my single friend...she always "pretends" to get mad at me, but i know she likes it!!!

normally I love popcorn..great snack. Hubby eats it every other night for dessert. But during pregnancy he knows he can't have it.

Mine was sardines (in MUSTARD sauce...verra important, had to be slathered in mustard sauce) on saltine crackers followed by a spoonful of STRAWBERRY yogurt (yeah, again, HAD TO BE strawberry)

I ate that crap for darn near every meal for over 2 months with Alex.

Funny thing is, it doesn't sound too bad even now....
