Housebreaking is a bitch!

Okay... this is Daisy.
Daisy just turned 1.
Daisy is cute, but evil... we call her the rat, napolean, and gremlin. She is a loveable dog that likes to curl up at your feet and nap, attack the bigger dogs at the ankles, play chase with my son, oh yeah and pee and poop anywhere she feels like it.

We have tried everything. The dog will not hold her bladder or her sphinxter. Any suggestions?

I only have cats..they use the litter and I have never had a problem other then the odd yakking up a hairball, so I can't help you.

She is pretty damn cute though, I must add!!!

looks can be decieving...

BUT...that is why it is so hard to discipline her.

I only have cats as well...and I really don't have any suggestions to solve your problem.

I do know that my parents cats used to "pee" everywhere...so my Dad looked at his house insurance policy and it actually covered pet damage....because the "pee" gets in the underlay of the carpet and it seeps into the baseboards.

So long story short, he was able to put hardwood flooring throughout the entire house for absolutely nothing (other than his insurance deductible).

Sorry I can't be more of a help....but Daisy is one quite puppy.

I wonder if getting her spayed will help. I have to get this nipped before the new baby comes.

All 3 dogs eat toys..that's a pain too. My son can't have any of his stuffed animals out of his room.

I remember seeing an episode of Oprah (I was flipping through the channels I swear) and there was a guy on there named "The Dog Whisperer"....pretty weird name...but man did he know a lot about dogs.

His name is Cesar Millan and he has two books out...both of which can be found at Chapters. They are called....

Cesar's Way: The Natural, Commonsense Guide to Understanding and Correcting All Common Dog Problems

Be The Pack Leader: Use Cesar's Way To Transform Your Dog . . . And Your Life

Each books is around $20 Canadian.

I would definetely check his stuff out.

He also has a website...http://www.dogpsychologycenter.com/

Okay Okay...don't get your panties in a bunch!!!

All joking aside, I have seen this Ceasar guy work magic with aggressive dogs. I just sent him an email...Hopefully he will choose mine!

You are going to send your dog off to some guy named "Caesar" to get trained?

Come on...

EJL said...

No I am not sending her there...he is in Cali. But I emailed him with my problem. I can't have the new baby crawling in a puppy pee pee puddle.

He really is awesome. I have seen him on TV. He helps calm some of the most wild dogs. It really is about your relationship with your pets. And he works on that with the owners and the animals.

Are you saying that you wouldn't send your dog to Caeser because of his name? I don't see the correlation.

I have always crate trained my dogs (I've had Goldens for as long as I can remember)and it works great.
Thing is, if someone is not actively doing something with the pup, they're in the kennel. Make it big enough for them to be comfy, but not so big that they can have a sleep area and a poo area. Most dogs will not poo where they sleep.
I'd bet if you google "crate training" you could find a bunch of info on it, it really does work great!
Good Luck!
